MIMIT™ is the first, and at present only, translation outside the USA of the highly successful CIMIT® initiative for generating and developing innovations in medical and health technology.

MIMIT™ aims to broaden the scope and to accelerate the development of new healthcare technologies; thereby enabling new technologies to reach patients faster and more effectively.

How?

MIMIT™ has identified senior representatives within each partner  organisation to identity both clinical need and clinical exploitation potential in science and engineering. These ‘Site Miners’ are the catalyst for forming collaborative relationships amongst clinicians, scientists and engineers.

MIMIT™ Seminars, Site Miner Meetings and MIMIT™ Forums give innovators in all disciplines an opportunity to both brainstorm ideas and build effective teams; creating an unprecedented network across interdisciplinary boundaries.

MIMIT™ also works closely with business and industry partners through, for example, Medilink Northwest; establishing pathways for strategic alliance and meeting the industry partnership needs of research teams. Early engagement with industry provides a strong competitive advantage, particularly for small to medium sized technology-based enterprises.

MIMIT™ provides early investment in interdisciplinary translational developments. This enhances and accelerates opportunities for transfer of knowledge and expertise, and provides pump-priming catalytic grants for technology development.
