A MIMIT™ Success to Start the Series...

Last night Manchester Interdisciplinary Biocentre hosted the launch of MIMIT™'s Seminar Series, a unique insight into Prof Sandra Downes' novel polymer conduit for peripheral nerve repair. MIMIT Site Miners Robert Yates and John New attend the first MIMIT Seminar

The MIMIT Seminar Series is open to anyone with an interest in innovative technology for healthcare, including clinicians and AHPs, engineers, scientists, industry and students.  Speakers have been carefully selected to illustrate the potential impact of cutting-edge technologies on patient care; and the Series began with a MIMIT success story.

Prof Sandra Downes is Project Lead on one of MIMIT's initial Small Grant Scheme-funded projects (2007/2008), and she presented her work on this highly successful project, entitled 'Regenerating Nerves After Injury: A Novel Polymer Conduit for Peripheral Nerve Repair'.  There was also a presentation by UMIP detailing the invaluable part they play in new technology development; an often misunderstood aspect of the development process.

'This was a good event and interesting lecture... thanks for the new lecture series.'
