
Over 600 attendees, speakers and exhibitors convened on the 28th and 29th of October to forge new public-private partnerships in healthcare at the CIMIT conference.
Representing MIMIT were Prof Jackie Oldham, Director of MIMIT, Sam Ryder, Head of Operations at MIMIT, Rich Ferrie, Senior Business Manager at UMIP, Dr John New, Consultant Physician & Clinical Director, North West Health from the Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust, Stephanie Austin, Head of IT at the Salford Royal Foundation Trust, Dr Hugh Aldridge, Director of Business Relations at the University of Manchester, Dr Stephen Fowler, Lecturer and Honorary Consultant in Respiratory Medicine at theUniversity of Manchester, Maria Basante from the University of Manchester, David Dalton, CEO of the Salford Royal Foundation Trust, Prof David Clarke, Associate Dean for Businees Relations Faculty of Medicine & Human Sciences at the University of Manchester. The team were also joined by Dr Maire Smith, Director of Technology & Product Innovation at the National Innovation Centre.
Dr John A. Parrish, Executive Director of CIMIT, applauded MIMIT for bringing a promising idea to fruition. He went on to explain:
“During the course of our exploratory year, we met many UK-based researchers and scientists. All are extremely bright, motivated and committed to developing better care. More importantly, the six medical centers and the University of Manchester offer a fertile environment for collaborative innovation, as this research cluster is focused on finding solutions to many important healthcare challenges. CIMIT's goal is to continue to build on the learning and connections made this week”.
