CIMIT visit
MIMIT was delighted to welcome Steve Schachter, CIMIT Chief Academic Officer and Prof. of Neurology, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and John Collins, Chief Operating Officer and Director for Technology Implementation for a two day visit to deepen understanding of MIMIT’s operational infrastructure and implementation and explore potential opportunities for further collaboration, building on the links developed through the RCUK Science Bridges award.
Steve and John had key meetings including those with Richard Deed (Innovation Unit Manager, TrusTECH), Rich Ferrie (Head of Biomedica Group, UMIP) and Martino Picardo (Managing Director, UMIC). There was also a tour of the trauma unit at Salford Royal with John New (Consultant Physician and Diabetologist) and Paul Dark (Intensive Care Physician) and discussions with Gus McGrouther (Prof. of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery) on common interests within the field. Through these discussions a one day event dedicated to trauma hosted by MIMIT and supported by CIMIT, will be held at the end of November (details to follow).
