MIMIT Projects Enjoying Considerable Success
MIMIT has been operational for just over two years and has supported a number of projects that are enjoying considerable collective success including:
- 5 projects in receipt of >£3million external follow on grant funding (Wellcome Trust, RCUK, Williamson Trust, Medical Futures, i4i, EPSRC, Royal College of Surgeons, Stanley Thomas Johnson Foundation);
- 2 projects in receipt of University of Manchester Intellectual Property Ltd Proof of Principle funding;
- 1 project EPSRC studentship secured;
- 1 project Royal College of Surgeons Fellowship secured;
- 1 project Newby Trust PhD studentship secured;
- 5 patents filed;
- 1 project world wide patent protection, >£2million Venture Capital funding, SME licence agreement and global industry discussions underway;
- 11 publications published or in press;
- 1 invited international conference plenary;
- 19 international conference presentations.
MIMIT's Director, Professor Jackie Oldham, said in congratulation, 'This is a fantastic achievement in only two years of operation. We are proud to be working with the teams supported through MIMIT funded projects.'
